DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. When this Notice comes into effect from 25th April 2025 until 26th April 2025, a temporary 30 mph speed limit will be imposed upon BOVINGTON LANE, BOVINGTON between the southern end of the exisiting 30mph speed limt to a point approximately 65 metres east of its junction with Cologne Road, a distance of approximately 1,300 metres, at such times and to such extent as indicated by the traffic signs. The Notice is needed to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
The temporary speed limit will will be in as a traffic management solution to slow down traffic near the entrances / exits to the temporary car parks for the Tiger Day Spring event.
The Tank Museum will place temporary signing on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the speed limit. The following map shows the extent of the temporary speed limit.
